I’m widely known among my friends as the logical, reasonable or responsible one. Much to my shock and eventually chagrin. Because basically that makes me boring and most often negative. So this makes me super qualified to help you make your travel dreams a reality, you know, because if you can get past every reason (read: excuse) to NOT do something, then you’ve got the green light to actually DO it! Brilliant right?

I’m highly knowledgeable. I don’t know everything. Let me repeat that: I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING! I won’t even pretend to. One of my favorite quotes from a favorite play is from The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, where-in Jack is seeking the hand of Cecily from Lady Bracknell. Lady Bracknell says, “There are two types of people in the world; those who know nothing and those who know everything. Which are you?” And Jack replies, “I know nothing.” It’s the correct response, even though she doesn’t tell him that. Now that you’ve had a little lesson in literature and in me, we can proceed. I like to say I know a little about a lot. Anyone that has met me would most likely agree (speculation). I like to know things and whenever I am making a decision I need to know as much as I can, as close to “everything” as I can get.

Do your research. Know just what you are getting yourself into. That’s what this post is going to do. It is going to get you to thoroughly ask and answer every possible question about getting to your destination.

The main questions you will need answers to begin with Where, Why, How and What:
Where are you going?
Why would you go?
How will you get there and how long do you plan to go?
What are you going to do when you are there?

When (see what I did there?) you answer those questions you can formulate a plan. Huzzah! I made a worksheet for you and so you can print this and follow along OR you can simply make one yourself (but printing is so much faster and easier)!

Here is mine filled out for my trip next month:

Where are you going? DALLAS, TEXAS
Why would you go? TO VISIT MY BEST FRIEND AND MY FAVORITE TINY HUMAN.
How will you get there and how long do you plan to go? AIR PLANE & JUST FOR THE WEEKEND.
What are you going to do when you are there? TATTOO, SEE SOME SIGHTS, SEE MY TINY HUMAN, SEE MY BESTIE, EXPLORE!

Next week I’m going to explore the “When” which is more logistical and covers things like, best time to go, how you are going to afford going because let’s face it, travel costs money – Boo! So I’ll include tips about saving money, as in things so simple you’re like “really?” Also, discounts and things like visa and passports IF you’re going to do some international traveling rather than domestic like me 🙂 It will cover a lot more but I’m not going to spoil everything because what would be the point of you reading it if I simply share everything?

You may want to subscribe to my RSS or follow my blog on Bloglovin’ in order to get more real time updates because this series is going to go on for a couple weeks and you could have everything handle delivered to your inbox or you can put a reminder in your phone to come back. But you know you’re going to go with one of the first things because the second option is stupid. 😉
